“Recruiting civilian police is not an easy task”

The head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), Adán Augusto López Hernández, acknowledged that it has been difficult to train civilian police.

“To be honest, it is not an easy task to recruit, train, organize police officers, it is a task that takes us about two years, nothing more than a year, recruiting 100 probable municipal police officers takes four or five months, training them in the institutes, schools or police academies the minimum time is one year”, assured the federal official.

He added that in just two years they will begin, gradually, to have municipal and state police that are better trained, better organized, better equipped, and pointed out that a fund was approved for that, which will be nourished by the resources that are in accounts. frozen and that have been detected as a result of illicit activity, drug trafficking, kidnapping, extortion, “which today are more or less 27 billion pesos.”

They rule out inconsistencies

On the other hand, the head of the Interior affirmed that if the Congresses of the states do not approve that the Armed Forces operate in their localities, despite needing the functions of the security institution, it is not and will not be an “inconsistency”, however , we must take advantage of the “best internal organization” there is.

In a press conference that he gave, after finishing the dialogue between legislators from Aguascalientes, the secretary commented that the opinion and decision of each one of the legislators and of the state Congress as a whole must be respected.

“Note that it is not a matter of inconsistency, first, to respect the opinion and decision of each one of the legislators and of the congresses in their entirety,” said the head of the Segob.
