Two girls, aged fifteen and seventeen, were summoned to appear before a juvenile judge in France, after taking part in a TikTok challenge, claiming their involvement in a murder.
The two girls, residing in the region, will appear before the courts in April for a “false report”, a misdemeanor that carries a two-year prison sentence, said Fabien Azoury, the public prosecutor of the republic in the city of Grasse, southeast of France.
The newspaper “Nice Matin”, which revealed the information, explained that the challenge in which the two girls participated was based on sending text messages to unknown people with the aim of frightening the recipient, with texts including “Where are you? The corpse is with me”, then the participants in the game publish via “Tik Tok” the answers that They receive.
However, some of the people who received the messages informed the authorities of their contents, “which required the gendarmerie to mobilize its energies in order to detect the senders” of these messages.
