Las remittances sent to Mexico, one of the country’s main sources of foreign currency, grew in November for the thirty-first consecutive month, although the monthly amount fell from the all-time high recorded in the previous month, according to figures released Monday by the central bank.
The capital received during the month totaled 4,801 million dollars, 3.0% more than in November 2021, according to the monthly report of Banco de México. The bullish streak started in May 2020.
In October, remittances reached a record $5.36 billion, surpassing the previous mark of $5.297 billion in July.
The number of operations – coming mainly from the United States – increased 4.7% year-on-year in the period to 12,207 million transactions, while the average amount per order fell 1.7% to 393 dollars.
In cumulative numbers, the remittances they increased by 13.5% year-on-year between January and November to 53.139 million dollars, detailed the central bank.
