The Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces of the Libyan Government of National Accord announced the rescue of 181 African immigrants, who were on their way to European shores, in two separate operations.

The Chief of Staff said that “as soon as the apparatus received a distress call, the two boats, Fezzan and Ubari, were moved, after equipping them with the necessary capabilities for rescue and salvage, as the members of the apparatus performed their role to the fullest.”
And she continued, “As soon as the rescue operations were completed, the migrants were disembarked at the landing point at the Tripoli Naval Base, in preparation for handing them over to the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency,” adding that “the agency will follow, within the framework of its humanitarian role, the process of caring for these migrants and completing the procedures for deporting them to their countries safely.”
