The Saudi authorities announced the resumption of commercial traffic with Qatar, after more than 3 years of suspension.
King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam announced via Twitter, that “commercial traffic has resumed between the Kingdom and Qatar, with the arrival of 27 containers from Hamad Port.”
This step comes days after Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain announced the opening of all sea, air and land borders with Qatar, following the holding of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.
On January 5, the Al-Ula summit resulted in the signing of a reconciliation agreement that ended the crisis between Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, and Qatar.
