Volaris expects the country to recover Category 1 aviation security from the United States in the fourth quarter of 2023, the company announced this Tuesday morning in a presentation on the occasion of Investor Day.
The downgrading to category 2 established in May 2021 by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has prevented Mexican airlines from increasing routes and frequencies from that date. The US FAA downgraded the rating, saying Mexico did not regulate its airlines “in accordance with minimum international security standards.”
The Mexican airline also said that it plans to double its revenues and gross operating result (Ebitda) from pre-pandemic levels by 2025.
