“Bachelor in Paradise” Season 10 Unveils Reinvented Format with Golden Twist, New Showrunner, and Tropical Relocation
LOS ANGELES—Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise premiering July 7 promises a bold refresh, blending fresh faces, a cinematic overhaul, and a tropical relocation to Costa Rica. The latest installment introduces alumni from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette—dubbed the “Goldens”—alongside former Bachelorette Hannah Brown in a newly created “Paradise Relations” role. Spearheading the changes is new showrunner Scott Teti, a veteran producer behind unscripted hits like Claim to Fame and Married at First Sight spinoffs, who aims to modernize the franchise’s signature drama and humor.
“I wanted to make the show feel 2025—visually sleek, intimate, and sophisticated,” Teti told Variety. His approach involves innovative cinematography, including unobtrusive long-lens shots to capture candid moments, and a stylized aesthetic that leans into the series’ romantic escapism. “When the cast relaxes, they open up in ways viewers haven’t seen before,” he explained.
Golden Energy Meets Youthful Vibes
The Goldens, known for their breakout appearances on the senior-focused spinoffs, bring a surprisingly lively dynamic. Teti noted they arrived “ready to party” with even more exuberance than their younger counterparts, fostering intergenerational camaraderie. While couples largely gravitated toward peers, cross-generational banter flourished—think tech-savvy millennials tutoring seniors on dating apps, while Goldens dished blunt advice like, “Lower your standards if you want a man.”
Comedy, Reimagined
Though Paradise traditionally leans into slapstick antics, Teti’s vision refines the humor: “We’re aiming for irreverence without clichés.” The comedy now weaves subtler beats into organic interactions, balancing lighthearted hijinks with the show’s romantic stakes.
Location Upgrade
The shift from Mexico’s rustic Playa Escondida to Costa Rica’s lush Arenas Del Mar resort addresses prior cast complaints—no more sweltering nights sans air conditioning. Teti credits the upscale locale with enhancing the cast’s comfort, which he argues translates to more authentic storytelling: “Happy people make compelling television.”
Casting Crossroads
Integrating the Goldens required strategic planning. While their enthusiasm made recruitment “easier,” Teti emphasized meticulous matchmaking to balance sincerity and entertainment. “It’s about who’s genuinely open to love—and chaos,” he quipped.
As Season 10 prepares to debut, Teti’s ambitious reinvention positions Paradise as both a nostalgic retreat and a forward-thinking experiment—proving even paradise can level up.
