RICKY HATTON: Anthony Joshua has a tailor-made fight for him against Kubrat Pulev… the Bulgarian’s only chance is to bully the Brit like Andy Ruiz Jr did
- Anthony Joshua needs to be careful against Kubrat Pulev but fight is set for him
- Pulev’s best chance to trouble Joshua is to make him uncomfortable up close
- AJ needs to put in a convincing performance to set pulses racing among fans
This is a good fight for Anthony Joshua.
To beat Joshua, you have to bully him. That is what worked for Andy Ruiz in their first bout, when he got in his face, made him uncomfortable and dropped him four times.
I don’t think Kubrat Pulev can fight like that. I expect he will try to stay at mid-range, working his jab and using his technical skill, and that suits Joshua.
Anthony Joshua (left) will take on Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev on Saturday night at Wembley Arena
He needs to be careful, but Joshua knows how to close those spaces and has the power.
He needs to impress in this fight and I think he will win inside six rounds.
You look at Tyson Fury and how he put on a show against Deontay Wilder. With that display in mind, it would be a good time for Joshua to perform.
He did what he needed to do to beat Ruiz in the rematch but it didn’t set pulses racing. This one feels tailor-made for him.
