At Royal Portrush on Friday, Rasmus Hojgaard shot a 3-under-par 68 in his second round, placing himself firmly in contention for the British Open. His performance moved him to 5-under for the tournament, five strokes behind leader Scottie Scheffler, and positioned him to potentially become the first Danish player to win the championship.
As Hojgaard spoke with reporters after his round, his 24-year-old twin brother, Nicolai, was concurrently playing the front nine and had climbed to 3-under par. This unique scenario of two brothers near the top of the leaderboard prompted a reporter to ask Rasmus: “Are you rooting for or against your brother now that you’re both in good position?”
