The Saudi Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abdullah Al-Muallami discussed with his Russian counterparts Vasily Nebenzia and Chinese Zhang Jun the Kingdom’s initiative to end the crisis in Yemen and reach a comprehensive political solution there.
The Saudi Press Agency stated that during the two separate meetings that were held virtually yesterday, Wednesday, the parties discussed “the best ways to move forward in order to support the initiative, support it and transfer it to the field of implementation.”

Al-Mouallimi stressed that this initiative “comes as a continuation of the Kingdom’s serious and practical concern for the security and stability of Yemen and the region, ending the Yemeni crisis, and lifting the human suffering of the Yemeni people.”
And as the Saudi delegate affirmed, “The Kingdom and the coalition countries continue to support the Yemeni people and their legitimate government, and their commitment to their humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, support all peace, security and stability efforts in Yemen, and move to a new stage for the development and improvement of the Yemeni people’s livelihood.
Russia had announced its welcome to the new peace initiative presented by Saudi Arabia to end the war in Yemen, which includes a nationwide ceasefire under the supervision of the United Nations, calling on all parties to the conflict to “study these proposals carefully and completely.”
