IHSA Football Playoff Quarterfinals: Matchups and Results
Class 8A
Top-seeded Mount Carmel is set to host No. 9 Lincoln-Way East at 4 p.m. Saturday. Other quarterfinal matchups include No. 4 Fremd taking on No. 12 Bolingbrook at 7 p.m., No. 2 Barrington facing No. 23 Lockport at 6 p.m., and No. 11 Oswego traveling to No. 3 Maine South for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
Class 7A
In a completed quarterfinal, No. 15 Downers Grove North defeated No. 7 Lincoln-Way West 28-10. Upcoming games on Saturday feature No. 25 St. Rita at No. 16 Hersey at 3 p.m., No. 21 Glenbard North at No. 13 Batavia at 1 p.m., and No. 3 St. Charles North playing No. 6 Brother Rice at 6 p.m.
Class 6A
No. 1 Nazareth will host No. 4 Lake Zurich at 1 p.m. Saturday. In another 1 p.m. contest, No. 2 Burlington Central faces No. 11 Fenwick. Later in the day, No. 12 Simeon will travel to No. 8 East St. Louis for a 2 p.m. start, while No. 10 St. Laurence plays at No. 6 Dunlap at 3 p.m.
Class 5A
No. 2 Belvidere North advanced with a 17-10 victory over No. 6 Cary-Grove. On Saturday, No. 13 King will play at No. 9 St. Francis at 1 p.m., top-seeded Washington (Ill.) faces No. 5 Providence at 1 p.m., and No. 3 Peoria takes on No. 2 Oak Forest at 3 p.m.
Class 4A
The quarterfinal matchups on Saturday include No. 5 Coal City at No. 1 Montini at 1 p.m., No. 2 Morris visiting No. 6 Geneseo at 2 p.m., No. 4 Breese Central at No. 9 Cahokia at 2 p.m., and a 4 p.m. contest between No. 10 Sacred Heart-Griffin and No. 3 Rochester.
Class 3A
All quarterfinal games are scheduled for Saturday. No. 5 Monmouth-Roseville will face No. 1 Richmond-Burton at 2 p.m., while No. 11 IC Catholic takes on No. 2 Byron and No. 4 Tolono Unity plays top-seeded Williamsville in other 2 p.m. kickoffs. The action begins at 1 p.m. with No. 2 Vandalia visiting No. 14 St. Joseph-Ogden.
Class 2A
On Saturday, two games are set for 5 p.m.: No. 9 Tri-Valley at No. 5 Wilmington, and No. 3 Farmington at No. 2 El Paso-Gridley. Earlier at 2 p.m., No. 4 Flora will play No. 9 Maroa-Forsyth, and No. 3 Arthur-Lovington will face No. 2 Westville.
Class 1A
No. 3 Lena-Winslow defeated No. 2 Annawan-Wethersfield 42-20, and No. 7 Brown County secured a 37-13 win over No. 11 Carrollton. With these results, Lena-Winslow will advance to the semifinals to play the winner of the Saturday 6 p.m. game between No. 12 Dwight and No. 1 Stockton. In the other semifinal, Brown County will face the winner of the 2 p.m. matchup between No. 1 Calhoun and No. 4 Casey-Westfield.
