In Better Man, Robbie Williams is a monkey man. But irl? He’s a man of the cloth. Ordained minster Robbie Williams officiated a wedding at a New York screening of Better Man this weekend. “At today’s BETTER MAN Q&A in NYC, Robbie Williams was vulnerable, receptive to the audience’s energy, took time to have a heart to heart with his daughter, and then a man in the audience asked him, as an ordained minister, to officiate a marriage with his fiancé,” blogger Ezra Cubero wrote on Twitter. “Incredible.”
While Williams is ordained by Universal Ministries, this wedding probably still doesn’t count for stuff like taxes. No marriage license, no marriage. Still, it’s a nice declaration. “By the power vested in me by absolutely nobody — it’s not legally-binding, but it’s legally-binding in your heart and your heart and my heart,” he said before getting to the I Do’s. Williams then announced the couple as man and wife while holding a giant slushie from concessions. Better Man’s debuted in the U.S. this weekend to only a $1.1 million box office. But nobody is getting married at Den of Thieves 2 screenings, are they?
