Rocha delivers health equipment to Sinaloa hospitals

Culiacán, Sinaloa, January 26, 2023.- From the Culiacán General Hospital, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya launched a series of government actions aimed at caring for the health of Sinaloans, such as the operation of 18 new units of hemodialysis for the General Hospitals of Los Mochis, of Mazatlán, and this one of the state capital, and also delivered the necessary equipment for cochlear implant surgeries to children, which are free, and to strengthen the care capacity of the hospitals, delivered various computer equipment and 11 vehicles for the Vector Program, which are the tasks of prevention and containment of Dengue and Malaria.

Accompanied by the Secretary of Health, Cuitláhuac González Galindo; and for his daughter, the president of the Sinaloa DIF System, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz, the state president went to the old Culiacán General Hospital, located in the Rosales neighborhood, to first supervise the operation of the eight hemodialysis units that are already in operation. , which were added to the six units that existed, and with which the service is provided to 45 patients with renal failure, 37 of them who attend their appointments every third day, three days a week, since they receive a service ambulatory, and the remaining eight patients are people admitted to the hospital itself.

It should be noted that a total of 18 hemodialysis units were delivered to the three aforementioned hospitals, with an investment of 15 million pesos, in response to the instruction given by the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during his visit to the General Hospital of Guamúchil, when he came to supervise the IMSS-Wellness Program.

In this regard, Governor Rocha specified that the objective is to have hemodialysis units in all municipalities, at least one team in the most remote and small municipalities, such as Choix, Badiraguato, Cosalá, for example, so that people with kidney failure do not have the need to travel to Culiacán, Mazatlán and Los Mochis to undergo their periodic hemodialysis sessions.

Another of the programs that the state president supervised was that of cochlear implant surgeries, where the State Government invested 10 million pesos, to perform 20 surgeries on the same number of children with congenital deafness problems, which are totally free. and whose cost is 500 thousand pesos each, but that the beneficiary families do not have to pay anything.

So far, 12 of those 20 scheduled operations have been carried out, so eight teams are still available. It is worth mentioning that Sinaloa is one of the three states of Mexico, along with Puebla and Guanajuato, where this free surgery program is carried out, for the benefit of low-income families, for whom it would be practically impossible to cover the costs of these interventions. .

Precisely, Mrs. Fernanda Mendoza González, mother of nine-year-old boy Samuel Fernando, thanked Governor Rocha for implementing this kind program, because thanks to it, her son is one of the 12 children who have already undergone surgery and He changed his life when he heard it for the first time.

“First of all, I would like to acknowledge that our governor has taken the initiative to implant children with this great benefit, a very expensive implant that is not available to us as a family, and well, on behalf of the parents, who are benefited, we thank Dr. Rubén Rocha Moya, Dr. Cuitláhuac, Dr. Eneyda, and the entire multidisciplinary team of the Pediatric Hospital, thank you very much, the truth is that they are going to change the lives of our children”, the mother of the family visibly thanked.

For his part, Governor Rocha said that this program has a high personal and emotional meaning for him, since in his family he had cases of congenital deafness in two of his father’s brothers.

“For me it is one of the programs that I appreciate very much, and we are going to continue it, what we have programmed, the implant costs us 500 thousand pesos but we are going to attend to them so that it does not cost the parents anything, and the same thing that we are going to to do with children with heart problems, we are going to start with the cardiac screening, we have 40 cases –open heart operations- that cost us more or less 250 thousand pesos each case, a total of 10 million pesos, and it is a guarantee that these 40 cases are going to be operated on the children, that this is better than me going and strutting around doing a piece of street or a material work, that yes they are necessary and useful, but not how to attend from the beginning the degenerative problems of health,” he said.

Regarding this Cardiac Screening program, it was reported that it will start in February to benefit more than three thousand girls and boys, seeking to detect at least seven heart diseases, starting 24 hours after birth.

Subsequently, on the front esplanade of the General Hospital, Governor Rocha made the symbolic delivery of the vehicles and computer equipment, since it involved the acquisition of 11 vehicles to improve the operation of preventive programs such as Vectors (prevention and containment of Dengue, and Malaria), consisting of three 17-passenger JAC brand Urvan units, three chassis pick-up trucks with a version for a fumigator box, two sedans and three pick-ups, with an investment of six million pesos.

Likewise, it delivered computer equipment to the Sinaloa Health Services Units, consisting of 142 computers and 40 printers, for the Culiacán General Hospital, the Sinaloa Institute of Cancerology, the Sinaloa Pediatric Hospital, and the Hospital de la Woman, a team that represented an investment of 3 million 420 thousand pesos.

Governor Rocha was received at the Culiacán General Hospital by its director, Dr. Sara Camina Armenta Meneses; together with the municipal president of Culiacán, Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil; the president of the Health Commission of the State Congress, deputy and also a doctor Viridiana Camacho Millán; and the director of the Sinaloa Pediatric Hospital, Dr. Carlos Mijail Suárez.
