Mazatlán, Sinaloa, December 13, 2022.- Governor Rubén Rocha Moya inaugurated what he considered the most important road work built during his administration in Mazatlán, such as Santa Rosa avenue, which represented a large investment of 75 million dollars. pesos, and that will benefit 26 popular neighborhoods in the north of the city.
Accompanied by the municipal president of Mazatlán, Edgar González Zataráin, and by the Secretary of Public Works, José Luis Zavala Cabanillas, the state president highlighted that this work, in addition to being the one with the highest investment to date, has a special ingredient because nobody He requested it, because even his neighbors recognized, in the voice of Mrs. Martha Leticia Pineda, that they saw it as impossible to build a modern boulevard where before there was only mountains, a sidewalk and a stream that interrupted the path, where a bridge had to be built 30 meters in length.
“It is the first major work that I do in Mazatlán, I told them: find me an avenue where there is no sea, that is in the area of the popular neighborhoods, that we discover the problems that those neighborhoods have to fix them,” he said.
He pointed out that for this reason they chose to continue north on Santa Rosa Avenue, where there was no road, which surprised the residents themselves. “I really liked that they said that they did not imagine that, well, who asked for it? where did they go with banners to ask for it to be done? We chose it, and we saw that it was going to pass through many popular neighborhoods”.
Governor Rocha recognized that tourism predominates in Mazatlan, which is its main economic activity, so his government will continue to support this sector, but he specified that the areas where those who work in tourism companies live will not be neglected.
“That is why what we are doing here is very important, and what have I found? That many neighborhoods do not have legal certainty of their lot, and now that they are worth more -because of the surplus value that this work generated- there will be no shortage of people who want to take them away, but we are not going to leave them, we are going to regularize them everyone”, he emphasized while giving instructions to the Housing Commissioner of the State of Sinaloa, Antonio Castañeda Verduzco, to start all the procedures as soon as possible.
In this same sense, the state president also promised to introduce drinking water and electrification services to two recently created popular neighborhoods through which Santa Rosa avenue crosses, as well as the construction of a state secondary school, this in response to the requests made by his settlers who attended the inauguration event.
Finally, the state president announced that in a second stage, it is planned to extend Santa Rosa avenue even further, until it connects it with Luis Donaldo Colosio avenue and thus close an urban circuit on the outskirts of the city, the cost of which will be 44 million pesos.
When making the technical explanation, the secretary Zavala Cabanillas reported that the avenue is a modern boulevard with two bodies of circulation, with a central median with variable dimensions from 3 to 5 meters wide, sidewalks 2 meters wide, with benches, bollards for bike path, garbage cans, with LED lamp lighting, all in a length of 1,400 meters, where the drinking water and sanitary drainage networks were also replaced.
The secretary added that this work is added to a package of 19 roads built in Mazatlán, totaling around 5 kilometers in length, works in which 180 million pesos of state resources have been invested.
In turn, the mayor Edgar González Zataráin, recognized that this great road was made exclusively with resources from the State Government, and reflects the commitment of Governor Rocha to build works of high social content, since they will make a difference for thousands of inhabitants of these 26 popular colonies, for whom it was impossible to travel through this place in the middle of the mountain, since this solves a mobility problem in the belt of the northern periphery of the city.
The state governor was also accompanied by the Secretary General of the Government, Enrique Inzunza Cázarez; by the Secretary of Economy, Javier Gaxiola Coppel; in addition to the Secretary of Works and the head of CIVIVE.
