One of the common denominators most repeated among franchises in the process of rebuilding is the bulky workforce they have at this point in the year. Plentiful draft picks, more than usual trial contracts and the inheritance of some of the nucleus from the previous stage complicate the task of fine-tuning the rosters for training camp and the season itself. It is precisely with this situation that the Houston Rockets have found themselves, whose surplus already accrued in filling the 20 players on the payroll that the NBA allows to face the preseason. Because of this, the franchise has had to dispense tyler bey to advertise the his brand new signing, Dante Exum.
Bey had come to the team on an unsecured contract last month, but his journey ends without being able to play even a minute in a friendly match. The forward is the victim of Dante Exum’s arrival in Houston, presumably for the next three years. This contract is not yet guaranteed, since at the moment he only appears as a member of the squad during the training camp. If the organization intends to enroll the Australian in the definitive squad for the 2021-22 academic year, it will have to renounce one of the 15 contracts that made it up to now. The favorite to leave a vacancy is Khyri Thomas, whose contract is not guaranteed.
As for the figures that are handled on the Exum contract, these vary a lot. As pointed USA Today through Rockets WireIf Exum meets all incentive targets, his salary would be close to $ 15 million for those three years. The point guard’s last season has once again been an ordeal of injuries that have only allowed him to play six games with the Cavaliers after suffering a strain on his twin in January. After leaving some details during the Olympics with Australia, Exum will try to find some constancy in a new destination. Unfortunately, at 25, it will be the umpteenth time.
