Press reports stated that Cristiano Ronaldo urged the management of his Saudi team, Al-Nassr, to submit an offer worth $1.300 million per week to include the English Manchester City star.
According to the Daily Mirror, Ronaldo asked Al-Nasr club officials to sign midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
Ronaldo believes that the Manchester City player can help Al-Nasr succeed if he joins Al-Nassr.
Al-Nasr occupies fourth place in the Saudi Professional League after 3 victories and two draws, during which “Al-Don” scored 4 goals.
Last season, they failed to secure any title, but the five-time Ballon d’Or winner believes one player can turn their fortunes around.
Ronaldo believes that Al-Nasr must take advantage of his contractual situation, as De Bruyne’s current contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the 2024-2025 season.
It is unclear whether De Bruyne is ready to leave City, but in September this year, he did not deny that he was open to a move to Saudi Arabia.
The Belgian stated, “At my age, you have to be open to everything. You are talking about incredible sums in what could be the end of my career. And sometimes you have to think about that.”
The curse of injuries haunts him
The midfielder has so far missed key league matches against Arsenal and Newcastle United due to a thigh injury.
He was also out of coach Pep Guardiola’s squad last season from August to December, due to a hamstring problem.
Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco also confirmed that De Bruyne had requested to miss November’s UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Israel.
