Former UFC and WWE champion Ronda Rousey questioned the fighting expertise of commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan during a recent appearance on comedian Bert Kreischer’s “Bertcast Podcast.”
The conversation began when Kreischer asked Rousey if any price could convince her to return to the UFC Octagon. “I have everything I want,” she replied. “There’s nothing that would really change my life.”
As the two joked about a hypothetical fight, Kreischer said he would ask Rogan for mixed martial arts tips. Rousey was quick to dismiss the idea.
“He wouldn’t know,” she said of Rogan. “He’s a fan with an audience. Never fought … taekwondo is not fighting.”
The relationship between Rousey and Rogan reportedly soured toward the end of her UFC career following losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. In a previous interview, Rousey claimed that Rogan and others had “turned” on her.
Before her MMA career, Rousey won an Olympic bronze medal in judo in 2008. She went on to become the UFC’s inaugural women’s bantamweight champion, making six successful title defenses before being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018. Following her departure from the UFC, she became a three-time women’s champion and a tag team champion in WWE.
