(CNN Spanish) — Rosalía turned on social networks once again, this time with a photo album with Lisa, from the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK, in which they are seen on a walk.
“My friend is prettier than a Basquiat,” says the message that accompanies the images, referring to the works of the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, one of which appears in one of the photographs that, according to Instagram, are all of Los Angeles, California.
In less than 24 hours, the publication already had more than two million “likes” and more than 25,000 comments, including multiple fans asking for a collaboration between the two artists.
Rosalía and BLACKPINK coincided this 2023 at Coachella, where the Spanish performed for the second time and where the K-pop group was one of those leading the line-up.
Both artists will also be in Mexico in a few days: Rosalía returns for the second time in a month to the Mexican capital for a free concert in the Zócalo, while at the end of April BLACKPINK arrives in the country for the first time.
The band has had a meteoric rise since their debut in 2016. Part of their global success is due to their cosmopolitan origins. The New Zealand-born, Australian-raised singer Rosé said in an interview with Time in 2022 — when the magazine named them artist of the year — that it’s an “advantage” in the studio that they’re all from “different cultures.” . Lisa, in fact, was born in Thailand.
