Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said today, Wednesday, that “the world is witnessing a rare phenomenon, represented by the fall of an oppressor in the United States of America.”
Rouhani said, “The fall of the US President, Donald Trump, is evidence that bullying, racism, and violating the law will not have good consequences.”
He added, “Trump has caused great losses to the American people, and America’s prestige, and confidence in it will take years to return to what it was before Trump,” noting that “no one thought that Trump would cause chaos in America and against democracy.”
The Iranian president explained that “what Tehran is witnessing in America is not the end of an American administration, but rather the end of the policy of maximum pressure and the economic war on Iran,” stressing that “all that Iran has suffered from during the past four years was as a result of the economic war, crimes, and American sanctions.” .
Rouhani also stressed that “the US sanctions affected economic life, but did not subjugate Iran,” noting that “the new US administration knows very well that the policy of maximum pressure has failed and cannot continue.”
He continued, “Our people endured many problems, but did not bow to American pressure, and we are confident that we will witness the result of our steadfastness and our resistance in the coming months.”
