Roy Keane continues his feud with Brazil boss Tite after he danced with his players

Roy Keane has reignited his war of words with Brazil boss Tite and risked sparking further outrage in the country as he doubled down on his criticism of his team’s actions in the win over South Korea by telling him to save his dancing for the nightclub.

Brazil raced into a 4-0 first-half lead in the last-16 clash with South Korea thanks to goals from Vinicius Jnr, Neymar, Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta.

Following Vinicius’ opener Brazil showed off a series of pre-planned dance routines to mark their goals, with even boss Tite getting involved after the third strike.

Keane was less than impressed with the incident on ITV’s coverage of the game and has since told Sky Bet: ‘I love watching Brazil and what they stand for. 

‘When you think of the World Cup you think of Brazil, I love watching them because they are brilliant at football, but not when they are dancing, or the manager starts dancing, it’s not respectful.

‘I don’t get how a manager can dance when the game is still going ahead, he’s got an opposition manager ten yards away from him, you’ve got to watch that. The game is about respect. Dance afterwards in the dressing room, or in the nightclub, that’s not a problem.

Keane previously called the dancing ‘disrespectful’ and compared it to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

‘But why is it okay for Brazil to do it during the game? If everyone has a dance after a goal, the games will be going on for three days. 

‘Do you know what they should start doing, when coaches do their pro licence, show the managers how to do a little dance on the sideline, forget tactics.’ 

It is latest escalation in a feud between Keane and Tite that started on the night of the game.

Tite has defended the dancing as part of Brazilian culture and insisted it is not disrespectful

The pundit called the dancing ‘disrespectful’ and compared it to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ during ITV’s coverage of the South Korea match, to which Brazil forward Vinicius Junior jokingly replied: ‘Keeeep dancing!’

Tite then hit back at Keane’s comments, saying those who criticised the celebrations did not understand Brazilian culture and that the dancing was ‘not disrespectful’ towards opponents.

‘This is not my team,’ Tite said on Thursday. ‘This is Brazil’s team and I’m just the head coach. I will not comment on those who do not understand our history and our culture.

‘It is part of our education. Kids dance in schools because it’s Brazilian culture and that’s not disrespectful. We will continue to do things in our manner.’

Brazil are next in action against Croatia – a side that has been historically sensitive on issues of respect after getting riled up about ‘Football’s Coming Home’ at the 2018 World Cup in Russia – in their quarter-final on Friday.
