Spanish press reports indicated that the doors of the Santiago Bernabeu would not be open to French star Karim Benzema, leader of the Saudi Jeddah Football Association, in light of reports of his intention to return to his former team, Real Madrid.
Rumors spread that Benzema (36 years old) did not adapt to his new team, and that relations with him were on the verge of collapse.
The dispute with coach Nuno Espirito Santo led to the Portuguese being dismissed by the federation, but that did not prevent Benzema from being criticized on social media for his lack of scoring sense, despite scoring 12 goals and providing 5 assists in 20 matches.
About two weeks ago, I was informed that Karim Benzema was unhappy at Al-Ittihad and that he had already made the decision to leave, but out of respect for the wishes of the source who informed me that the player would not return, I contented myself with hinting so as not to cause confusion, and for the rest of the conversation and behind the scenes. pic.twitter.com/KdH7CpWfVM

Benzema recently entered into disagreements with the technical administration of the Federation after he was absent from the team’s training without permission more than once, and he was not present at his camp in the Emirates in preparation for the return of local and continental activity again.
There were reports that there were talks with the new sporting director, Ramon Plaines, to discuss his departure from the club.

The newspaper “Marca” confirmed that Benzema wants to return to European stadiums, indicating that this will not be at Real Madrid and commented, “Los Blancos closed the doors to any possible return, as happened before with the big players, who left the team in previous times.”
Benzema left Real Madrid in the summer of 2023 to Al-Ittihad Jeddah after 14 years he spent at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid refused in similar situations, such as the return of Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium after his exit in 2018, to Juventus in Italy and then Manchester United in England.
Karim Benzema’s name has recently been associated with many clubs, most notably Chelsea and Manchester United in England, in addition to his early team, Lyon in France.
