The authority clarified that these measures are represented in slowing down the speed of Twitter’s work by 100% for mobile electronic devices and 50% for fixed devices, stressing that these measures come as a response against the background of Twitter’s inaction from 2017 until today to delete materials that incite minors. The authority stated that it had submitted to “Twitter” more than 28 thousand requests to delete those links and publications, but 3168 articles of this kind are still published on this social networking site so far.

The statement concluded by warning that the authority may tighten the procedures imposed on “Twitter”, which could lead to deleting the entire site in Russia, unless these materials are deleted.
