Russian security services arrested a man suspected of involvement in the murder of Alexander Kagansky, a well-known Russian expert in genetics, in St. Petersburg, on Sunday evening.
The Russian Investigation Committee stated that the arrested was a citizen of the city and was 45 years old, and that he would be charged with murder in an official manner, without revealing the identity of the dead man.
For his part, a source in the security services told the “TASS” agency that the victim, Alexander Kagansky, whose body was found near a residential building, bore signs of violent death.
And Alexander Kagansky (born in 1975) is a well-known expert in Russia and the world in the field of studying the influence of external factors on gene activity. In 2004 he obtained his Ph.D. from the National Institute of Health in the United States in Molecular Biology. In 2017, the researcher headed the Institute of Genomic and Regenerative Medicine at the Russian Near East Federal University.
