Data from the US Treasury Department indicates that Russia increased its investment in the US national debt last January, by an amount close to 134 million dollars.
By January, Russia had invested 6.145 billion dollars in US government securities, including long-term securities worth 2.744 billion dollars and short-term securities worth 3.401 billion dollars.
During that month, the Russian Central Bank increased its investment in US government bonds by one billion dollars in one go.
In the past, Russia, over the course of several years, systematically disposed of these securities, and as a result, the share of these American bonds in Russian financial reserves became slightly more than 1%.
