Russia is witnessing an increase in natural gas exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States, and this comes at a time when parts of Europe are experiencing a frost wave.
The Russian Gas Company “Gazprom” reported that natural gas exports to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States increased from January 1 to January 15 of 2021 by 41.5% compared to last year.
Natural gas exports during the past two weeks amounted to 9.1 billion cubic meters, meaning that they increased by 41.5%, or 2.7 billion cubic meters, compared to the same period in 2020.
It explained that natural gas exports to Germany increased by 32.1%, and to Italy by 139.7%, while they rose to Turkey and Austria by 8.7% and 11.7%, respectively.
