The Director of the Latin America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Steinin, said that supplying Argentina with the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine, which began at the end of December, will continue from January to March.
Steinin added, in a statement to “Novosti” agency today, Tuesday, that Argentina is seeking to vaccinate a total of 15 million people.
Vaccination with the Russian vaccine began in Argentina at the end of December, and 300,000 doses have been delivered so far, and it is scheduled to provide it with another 5 million doses in January, and more than 14 million in February.
Argentina was the first country in Latin America to sign a commercial contract to buy the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine.
The Sputnik V vaccine has been registered in a number of European, Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern and African countries.
Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria and Palestine have registered the Russian vaccine for adoption in vaccination campaigns against the Corona virus.
