The health authorities in Russia recorded 16,627 new cases of coronavirus and 497 deaths during the past 24 hours.
Today, Saturday, the Russian Center for Epidemic Control announced that 22,831 people recovered from Covid-19 disease during the past day, which raises the number of people recovering since the start of the epidemic to 3 million and 436,326 people.
The death toll from the virus in Russia since the outbreak of the pandemic has increased to 3 million and 951,233 infections, and the total deaths so far have reached 76,299 deaths.
The health authorities recorded a significant decrease in the number of new infections, compared to previous weeks, and stabilized for the fifth consecutive day at the level of 16 thousand.
Russia’s health authorities have conducted about 104 million tests so far to detect those infected with the virus.
Russia has launched a comprehensive vaccination campaign, using the “Sputnik V” vaccine, since last December in all regions of the country.
