The Russian astronaut, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, filmed a short video clip showing an amazing phenomenon, the setting of a full moon, as seen from the International Space Station at night.
Some may ask why the full moon appears flat in the video. This happens because the light reflected from the moon passes through the Earth’s atmosphere and is distorted. As for the earthly horizon, it is not visible at night, so it appears as if the moon is magically dissolving in the atmosphere.
It is worth noting that the Russian astronaut, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, published the aforementioned video clip on his blog on the social network “VKontakte” (VK).
It is noteworthy that the crew of the International Space Station currently includes the Russians, Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, the Americans, Robentz, Hopkins, Glover and the Japanese, Sweety Noguti.
