Since Ben Simmons definitively announced his intention to leave the Sixers, Sacramento has always been close to leading the race for the Australian point guard. The problem was, the Californians were refusing to include Tyrese Haliburton or De’Aaron Fox in the operation. However, the umpteenth disappointment of the Kings has made their owner threaten to give his arm to twist. According aim Sam Amick and The Athletic, Vivek Ranadive would have told his general manager to do what he could to improve the team.
Or what is the same, that the Kings no longer have a non-transferable list. This obviously ties in with his apparent interest in Ben Simmons. Daryl Morey still has his ambition in tow and we can’t even approximate what kind of offer would make him pick up the phone. Probably, while the Kings want to put all the meat on the grill, they will have to wait for the Bradley Beal or Portland situations to be solved to have any real options.
It was rumored months ago that the Sixers were expecting at least one All-Star caliber player, and while Fox and Haliburton may be in that shortlist within the stated context, neither of them have been present at any All-Star games. Surely Morey was referring to a player who wears that tag attached for life to DNA, in which case Sacramento will fall short again unless the patience of the Philly general manager is not such.
