Every awards ceremony has its share of fashion hits and misses, and Sunday night’s SAG Awards were no different.
With the show pre-taped this year amid the pandemic and the nominees unable to walk a red carpet, Hollywood’s finest instead shared their looks to social media.
Not everyone’s style risks paid off, however, with the likes of Elle Fanning, Emily Hampshire and Kathryn Drysdale missing the fashion mark this time around.
Schitt’s Creek’s actress Emily lead the worst dressed contenders as she opted for something totally different as she shared snaps posing on her hotel bed wearing a baggy Polo Ralph Lauren linen suit with rolled up cuffs.
The 39-year-old star offset it with a black tie, black beret and high top Converse sneakers with the laces undone. She later teemed the outfit with thick rimmed black glasses.
The Great star Elle Fanning was a disco doll in a Gucci sequin, crystal, and bead-striped short-sleeved jacket with belt and matching pants during Sunday’s SAG Awards ceremony.

The 1960s look, which resembled a glittery karate uniform, was paired with Gucci rings and golden platform heels selected by stylist Samantha McMillen.
Arriving in a nightmare of lavender ruffles was Bridgerton star Kathryn Drysdale, wearing a Jenny Packham purple tulle tiered gown, Jimmy Choo shoes and Fabergé diamonds.

Merle Dandridge matched her sash to her swimming pool as she sat outside in the sunshine in her SAG outfit
Too much: The Flight Attendant star Merle Dandridge looked glam in a beaded corset top and black trousers but ruined the look with a blue sash around her waist
Meanwhile, Merle Dandridge, star of HBO’s The Flight Attendant appeared to have nailed it in a glittering corset with black pants.
But the 45-year-old actress took it a step too far with an electric blue sash tied around her waist in a bow.
The Japanese born beauty wore her hair in a tousled ponytail and accessorized with some statement jeweled earrings with emeralds and sapphires.
The Crown’s Emma Corrin mixed styles and textures to create a bizarre mish-mash of an outfit. Despite her best actress victory at January’s Golden Globe Awards, as well as last month’s Critics’ Choice Awards, her outfit was not a winning look.
Over the rainbow: Leslie Odom Jr.’s technicolor suit with matching turtleneck wasn’t one of his best looks
Joaquina Kalukango donned a shiny blue number with a glittery bodice
Jason Sudeikis, who came under fire previously for wearing a hoody to the Golden Globes, wore a sweater with ‘My Body, My Choice’
Jared Leto donned a bright pink blazer, with matching silk cravat and shirt
The 25-year-old, who plays Princess Diana in the Netflix series, veered away from the late royal’s elegant style as she paired a delicate Prada silk frock with chunky combat boots.
Adding an additional layer of texture, Emma’s dress was cinched in at the waist with a black belt with a long pleated grey skirt attached.
Half of the skirt was missing so the belt still revealed some of the lace dress underneath.
Emma – who is nominated for female actor in a drama series – wore her hair in a center parting and teamed the outfit with diamond jewelry.
Other misses of the night included Sam McCarthy from Dead to Me, who wore an oversize cornflower blue suit with multiple blue layers underneath that totally drowned him.
Going all-out with color was One Night In Miami star Leslie Odom Jr. who donned a technicolor suit with matching turtleneck underneath.

Facing the unique challenges of a pandemic-era awards show, SAG-AFTRA’s awards committee decided against a Zoom-heavy affair in lieu of pre-produced pieces and top-secret acceptance speeches shot ahead of time.
Instead of entertaining an audience, the 2021 SAGs will honor nominees with a series of docu-series style segments in a nod to their traditional ‘I Am An Actor’ segments which usually open the show.
Viola Davis, Riz Ahmed, Cynthia Erivo, Sterling K. Brown, Dan Levy, Rita Moreno, Common and Daisy Ridley were just some of the stars confirmed for the hour-long show, which took place without a host.
Schitt’s Creek, The Crown, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom were the big winners of the night, with all three projects taking home two trophies each.
Schitt’s Creek won the awards for Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series, The Crown was the recipient of Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was the winner of Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture.
Mark Ruffalo was the very first winner of the awards show, scooping up the honor for Best Male Actor In A Television Movie Or Limited Series for his role in I Know This Much Is True.
Next, Anya Taylor-Joy won the award for Best Female Actor In A Television Or Limited Series for her role in The Queen’s Gambit.
Taylor-Joy beat out Cate Blanchett, Michaela Coel, Nicole Kidman, and Kerry Washington for the gong.
Following on, Jason Sudeikis accepted the award for Best Male Actor In A Comedy Series for his role in Ted Lasso wearing a ‘My Body My Choice’ sweater while sitting upon a plush sofa.
Next Daniel Kaluuya won the award for Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, while Yuh-Jung Youn accepted the honor for Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture.
Gillian Anderson from The Crown won the award for Best Female Actor In A Drama Series.

Similarly, Olivia Colman thanked the National Health Service as she accepted the award for Best Ensemble In A Drama Series for The Crown on behalf of the cast.
On top of awards, there were skits and the annual ‘I’m An Actor’ segment featuring a slew of who’s who in Hollywood.
An In Memoriam segment also paid tribute to those lost in the past year, including Chadwick, Naya Rivera, Dustin Diamond, and Christopher Plummer.
