Salah scored two goals during the 17th and 22nd minutes of the first half, before adding two more goals in the second half in the 48th and 69th minutes.
Salah scored a hat-trick for the first time with the Egyptian national team since facing Zimbabwe on June 9, 2013.
The last goal Salah scored in the “Pharaohs” jersey dates back to last March 28, when he scored against Malawi in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations.
Salah did not score against Guinea in the Nations Cup qualifiers, nor in the three friendlies against Tunisia, Zambia and Algeria.
Salah raised his tally to 55 goals, in second place in the national team’s top scorers, behind Hossam Hassan, the leader, with 68 goals.
Egypt topped the first group, two points ahead of Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, after they tied 0-0 in a match held earlier Thursday.
