Salary revisions had a real decrease of 3.7%:Conasami

Despite the fact that salary increases in the month of October had an average of 4.4%; in nominal terms they registered a real decrease of 3.7%, informed the National Commission of Minimum Wages (Conasami).

In the report presented by the Technical Department of the Conasamifacing the process of fixing the minimum wages of 2023, explained that during October 302 salary reviews were presented in the federal jurisdiction that involved 617,814 workers, who despite experiencing increases of 4.4% nominal, saw a royal decree of 3.7 percent.

So far this year, they have resolved 2,455 salary reviews that involved 1 million 638,844 workers who had an average salary growth of 5.8% in nominal terms and a decrease in terms of 2.1 percent.

“By labor union, six of the seven organizations that in real terms obtained decreases were: the Independents of the Labor Congress (C.T) with 4.4%; the Regional Mexican Workers Confederation (CROM) with 3.0%; National Autonomous Unions and Autonomous Trade Union Associations (SNA and ASA) 2.2%; Other Organizations of the C. T with 1.8%; the Confederation of Workers of Mexico (CTM) with 0.8%. On the other hand, the one that had the only increase was the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CROC) with 0.9%”, the report points out.

By state, seven obtained real wage increases, the main ones were Sonora (15.9%), Baja California (14.3%), Mexico City (6.2%) and Guanajuato (5.3%). On the other hand, the entities that obtained the greatest real falls were Campeche (4.6%), Durango (4.1%) and Oaxaca (3.4%).

By sector of activity, the sectors that had the higher increments They were Temporary Accommodation Services and Food and Beverage Preparation with 20.8%; Real estate services and rental of movable and intangible goods with 6.4% and Construction with 4.0%; On the other hand, the sectors that had the greater decreases real were that of Professional, scientific and technical services with 5.9%, that of Health and social assistance services with 4.5% and that of Information in the mass media with 4.5 percent.

Meanwhile, local jurisdiction reviews, in the month of September 2022, 637 reviews were carried out with average increases of 10.4% in nominal terms and 1.5% in real terms for the 43,599 workers involved.

So far in 2022, 5,697 salary reviews have been resolved that have involved 695,050 workers, who have had an average salary increase of 9.2% in nominal terms and 1.4% in real terms.

The report also details that in October 34 strike locations; 31 contract signing, 2 salary review and 1 contract review.
