To escape the field defeats that befell him in the Gaza Strip, at the hands of the heroes of the Palestinian resistance; The occupation army assassinated the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas Movement and the leader of the movement in the West Bank, Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri (57 years old). An Israeli drone targeted him yesterday evening (Tuesday), in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, with a missile strike, killing him and six others.
The liquidation of “Al-Arouri” came as a double Israeli blow to the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Hamas movement together, as he was targeted, while he was present in the movement’s office located in the “Southern Suburbs” in Beirut, which is considered an important stronghold for the party… with the implication that Al-Arouri – and the office The movement – in the party’s hospitality and protection.
It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of the party, Hassan Nasrallah, had anticipated such an operation, and had warned Israel – earlier – of dire consequences if it targeted any Palestinian, Syrian, or Iranian on Lebanese territory, especially since Israel was accustomed to targeting Iranians on the territory. The last of them is the leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, General Reza al-Moussawi, who was assassinated a few days ago.
Piracy, cowardice and treachery
Why did Israel commit this crime by assassinating Al-Arouri? What are the consequences and repercussions of this cowardly Israeli operation?
The “entity” faces an unprecedented predicament and a military failure, which has become apparent to the whole world, in the decline in the performance of the occupation army on the battlefield in Gaza. He did not achieve any of his goals of eliminating Hamas, dismantling its military capabilities, and freeing prisoners.
The successive and documented resistance strikes exposed the fragility of this false army. Therefore, the occupation resorted to the easiest solution, piracy, cowardice, and treachery, by assassinating the leader of the Hamas movement, Al-Arouri… just as it tyrannizes, brutalizes, and kills and annihilates defenseless civilians, with barbaric aerial bombardment.
The Israelis view the martyr Saleh Al-Arouri as one of the architects of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, and the link and coordinator between his movement (Hamas) on the one hand, and Iran and Hezbollah on the other hand.
The nucleus of the Qassam Brigades
In addition to running the military wing of Hamas in the West Bank, Al-Arouri is one of the founders of the Al-Qassam Brigades. It launched its nucleus in the West Bank in 1991. Al-Arouri also had a long Hamas career, as he was detained in occupation prisons for 18 years, beginning in 1990, until his release and deportation from the Palestinian territories in 2010.
He was subsequently chosen as a member of the Hamas Political Bureau, then deputy head of the movement’s Political Bureau in 2017. Al-Arouri also participated in managing the negotiations for the deal between the Israeli soldier held captive by Hamas, Gilad Shalit, in 2011, with Egyptian mediation, in exchange for more than a thousand Palestinian prisoners who were in the occupation prisons. .
These circumstances – and others – made him a target for the Zionist entity, and Hebrew media circulated his name last October, among six Hamas leaders, to target them.
Assassination policy
If all of the above were motives for targeting Al-Arouri, then the “Zionist entity” always resorts to a policy of assassinations of the leaders of the Palestinian resistance factions, whether in the occupied territories or abroad. Hoping to liquidate the resistance itself, far from recognizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The entity does not abandon the approach of assassinations, and over the course of half a century, it assassinated dozens of leaders from various “movements and organizations,” without this resulting in the liquidation of the “resistance.” It aims to prepare alternative leaders. If the PLO left the armed struggle, this was the result of intellectual changes that led to it falling into the trap of the “Oslo Accords” 30 years ago.
An Israeli message to Hezbollah
We come to the repercussions and consequences of the assassination of the martyr Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri, as it may negatively affect the negotiations for a ceasefire and the completion of a prisoner exchange deal, after Israel became exhausted from drowning in the mud of Gaza. Thousands of its soldiers were killed and wounded, and heavy losses in armored vehicles.
Al-Arouri was active within the Hamas negotiating team for the ceasefire in Gaza and the prisoner exchange deal that is currently being negotiated through Qatari and Egyptian mediation.
Therefore, the assassination could lead to expanding the scope of the war, to include the entire region, between the Zionist entity and the axis of resistance extending into Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, in addition to Gaza, which is what Hezbollah alluded to in its statement, in response to the assassination, in which it vowed With response and punishment.
By assassinating Saleh Al-Arouri in the heart of the “Southern Suburbs,” the party’s security stronghold, Israel may want to send a message to him that his men and the leaders of his party are not far from its hands and fire… especially since it had previously assassinated the party’s military commander, Imad Mughniyeh, in 2008. , in Syria.
Luring America to attack Iran
The occupation may be seeking to provoke the party; Expanding the scope of the war, luring Iran, and then the United States of America, to attack Iran and eliminate the party, or at least remove it beyond the Litani River. Securing the settlements north of the occupied territories on the border with Lebanon. Most likely, Hezbollah will not be able to swallow this “insult” that undermines its prestige… otherwise it will be repeated, and will affect its leaders.
In general, it is difficult to predict the repercussions of this event, as the United States of America does not want the region to catch fire… but it acted foolishly when it did not restrain Israel in its aggression against the Gaza Strip. Now America must choose: either move forward to slide in the shifting sands of the Middle East, and be distracted from confronting the Chinese dragon and its historical enemy, Russia, or extinguish the fire that it helped ignite with its blind support and comprehensive support for the Zionist entity.
The martyr Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri was born in the town of Aroura near the occupied Palestinian city of Ramallah (in 1966)… He is a student of Islamic law. He joined the Hamas movement, after Sheikh Ahmed Yassin founded it in 1987, to be a resistance movement.
Peace be upon the soul of the martyr Al-Arouri, and to all the martyrs of the resistance.
