In August, the star announced the exciting news via an emotional Instagram video that she and her husband DeAnda were expecting their first baby together.
“Still in shock and its been 4 months!” she wrote beneath the video. “I will be sharing more from my journey because it has been a wild one! Come follow this new adventure ♥️♥️♥️.”
Later that fall, in September, Hanratty shared that she’d learned her son would be born with a cleft lip, announcing the news in a video posted to her TikTok.
“I’ve been doing some updates on here and having a good time sharing these things with you and I thought I would share our latest update that our baby is going to have a cleft lip and a possible cleft palate,” Hanratty said.
“And at first, the news was obviously shocking because it doesn’t run in my family, it doesn’t run in my husband’s family,” she continued. “And the biggest thing that we all want is that we want our kids to be happy and we want our kids to be healthy.”
Hanratty went on to say that finding out her son will be going through several surgeries so soon after birth was tough, but she’s thankful to have found wonderful specialists to work with.
“It’s still scary to think that your precious little baby is going to be going under anesthesia and that there’s going to be difficulties,” she explained.
“I am already preparing for the fact that I will not be able to nurse. I will be pumping and doing formula and it’s been emotional, but I think that both me and my husband are at peace with the fact that we know that he’s going to be okay.”
At the end of the video, Hanratty said that whenever she gets a little sad or scared, her son “kicks me and reminds me that he’s fine and that he’s going to be okay.”
