Sam’s Club opens its first regenerative club in Apodaca

Monterrey, NL. Sam’s Club opened its first regenerative club in Mexico, located on Boulevard Julian Treviño Elizondo, corner of Calle Ciprés, number 1005, in the Hacienda de Huinalá neighborhood, in the municipality of Apodaca. This is Sam’s Club number 10 in Nuevo Leon and the 167 in the country.

The unit’s regeneration initiatives include the collection and reuse of rainwater for toilets and irrigation, as well as saving and generating energy through the use of LED lights, regulation of the intensity of lighting inside the unit according to natural lighting, and installation photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the club.

With the opening of Sam’s Club Huinala, more than 100 direct jobs will be createdwho join the more than 13,100 associates who collaborate every day in the clubs and stores of Walmart of Mexico and Central America in the state, where to date it has 338 establishments.

In addition to giving access to unique products, it will feature technological innovations such as Scan & Go, a unique tool in the market to save time and avoid checkout lines by scanning products with your cell phone while shopping and Sam’s at Home, and self-checkout boxes.

“Since the arrival of Walmart de México y Centroamérica in Nuevo León 30 years ago, we have opened 338 business units, with a approximate investment of 16,600 million pesos and with the generation of more than 13,100 permanent direct jobs,” said Javier Treviño Cantú, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Walmart de México y Centroamérica.

The opening event was attended by Emily Brehob, Vice Consul for Economic and Political Affairs of the United States in Nuevo León; Javier Treviño Cantú, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs; Kyle Kinnard, Senior Vice President of Operations for Sam’s Club; Ivonne Montiel González, Vice President of Operations; as well as Rubén López Soriano, Director of Operations.
