Samuel García will present the Nuevo León Climate Action Program at COP27

Monterey, NL. Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda will participate in the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with the aim of seeking programs that provide better solutions for caring for the environment in Nuevo León.

This Monday, the state president will participate together with the mayor of Monterrey, Luis Donaldo Colosio, in the presentation of the Climate Action Program of the state of New Lion and the Metropolitan Area of ​​Monterrey.

In this international meeting, Mexican officials will describe the progress of the collaboration around said program, as an example of national coordination for climate action.

Within this conference, the state president will share the experiences of the state government in the way in which it collaborates with the federal, local government and private initiative to work for the benefit of the environment.

García Sepúlveda mentioned that the new Constitution embodies the right of Nuevo Leon to have a healthy environment, sustainable cities, the right to renewable energies and public transport over motorized ones.

He commented that although the Pemex Refinery in Cadereyta has made some investments to reduce pollutants, like the state and other instances, society in general has not yet taken that step, to have its vehicles without contaminating.
