This Monday, December 5, sanborns group formalized the Public Offering of Shares (OPA) launched by Carso Group.
The Board of Directors found no conflict of interest since “all the shareholders of Grupo Sanborns are recipients of the Offer and may opt, under equal conditions, for the sale of their shares.”
In the takeover bid launched by Grupo Carso, the titles of Sanborns they were paid at 26 pesos each. This translates into a premium of 0.96% or fifty cents compared to its closing of 25.5 pesos on December 5.
The process began on October 31, in order to withdraw 13.22% of the representative shares of the share capital of Grupo Sanborns that are placed among the investing public. The other 86.88% is in the hands of the Slim family.
Grupo Sanborns is a chain of department stores with 451 establishments throughout the country. It has multiple store formats such as mix up, iShop, Sears y Daxamong others.
At the end of the year, Grupo Carso joins other companies that are processing their exit from the Mexican stock market, among them, lala group, Aeromexico, Bachoco y Santander.
