After having testimonial minutes in the first two games of preparation for the Grizzlies, Santi Aldama gave free rein to his basketball skills last night to finish against the Atlanta Hawks with 16 points and 9 rebounds; that is to say, bordering on double-double.
Coming off the bench, the Spanish player enjoyed up to 27 minutes that he won with his game, which led him to be the second highest scorer in Memphis after Desmond Bane; as well as the second highest rebounder of his team only surpassed by the 11 sacks of Xavier Tillman.
The prominence of number 30 of the last draft was encouraged by the many players who rested in Memphis (Jaren Jackson Jr., Ja Morant, Kyle Anderson, Steven Adams…), but that does not mean that their game should be detracted; what’s more, taking advantage of any opportunity is the first step to scratch minutes in a rotation in which at the moment you do not have your place secured.
The Tennessee team have their inner game well covered for the 2021-22 season with Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke, Jaren Jackson Jr., Xavier Tillman, Killian Tillie (two-way contract) and Santi Aldama himself. The minutes for the Canarian player are going to be sold expensive.
