Saudi Arabia decided to extend the restrictions imposed in the framework of combating the Corona virus on gatherings, entertainment activities, cinemas, and internal ordering services in restaurants and cafes for a period of 20 days, which can be extended.
The Saudi Press Agency quoted an official source in the Ministry of the Interior that this step came as part of efforts “to avoid the risks of a rise in the epidemic curve in the regions of the Kingdom, especially with the presence of indications of this, and the apparent laxity in the application of preventive and precautionary measures and the approved protocols.”

According to the source, it was decided to extend the following precautionary measures for a period of 20 additional days, starting from ten o’clock in the evening on Sunday, which can be extended according to the requirements of the epidemiological situation:
1- The maximum number of human gatherings in social events shall not exceed 20 persons.
2 – Stopping all entertainment activities and events.
3- Closing down cinemas, indoor entertainment centers, and independent indoor games places or those located in restaurants, malls, etc., and gyms and sports centers.
4 – Suspending the provision of internal ordering services in restaurants, cafes and the like, and limiting it to submitting external requests.
The source also noted the importance of everyone’s commitment to this, in addition to adherence to other precautionary measures for events, meetings, gatherings, parties, and funerals.
The latest decision came as an extension of a set of measures imposed by the Saudi authorities on February 3, including the closure of cinemas, halls and sports centers.
Yesterday, Saturday, the Saudi Health Ministry said that the current situation of Corona injuries in the Kingdom does not require more severe measures than was taken.
