Today, Wednesday, the Saudi Ministry of Sports announced that it will host the Spanish Super Cup next January.
The Ministry stated – in a statement – that the tournament will be held between the 10th and 14th of the same month, and will witness the participation of 4 clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Osasuna.
She added that the tournament will start with a confrontation between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid on January 10, 2024 at All Park Stadium in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and the next day, Barcelona (the holders of last season’s edition) will play with Osasuna, with the winner of the match meeting. The first is with the winner of the second match in the final on the 14th of the same month.
The 2024 edition will be the fourth organized by Saudi Arabia, after previously organizing the tournament for the years 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Barcelona will participate in the tournament as the holder of the league title, while Real Madrid will compete as the cup champion, Osasuna will play as the cup runner-up, and Atletico Madrid will participate because it was third in the league championship last season after Barcelona and Merengue.
