The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made new progress for the second year in a row, according to the “Women … Business and Law 2021” report issued by the World Bank Group.
The report aims to compare the level of discrimination in the gender systems in the field of economic development and entrepreneurship among 190 countries, as the Kingdom scored 80 out of 100, ahead of the score it achieved in the results of last year’s report of 70.6, to raise its ranking among the leading countries at the level of Middle East and North Africa.
According to the World Bank report, this achievement achieved by the Kingdom confirms the strength and continued momentum of legislative reforms in laws and regulations related to women’s rights, as Saudi Arabia has achieved gender equality in all areas of employment, to meet the needs of the labor market.
According to the report’s results, the Kingdom has achieved a full score of 100 in five main indicators out of 8 measured by the report, namely: mobility, retirement pension, entrepreneurship, work environment, and wage earning, while it maintained its score in the other three indicators. They are: marriage, childcare, assets and property.
These results place the Kingdom in the ranks of advanced economies, which have a historical depth in implementing the reforms of laws and regulations related to women.
