Saudi national team coach Roberto Mancini announced on Tuesday a list of 26 players that will compete in the Asian Football Cup finals between January 12 and February 10 in Qatar.
The Italian coach excluded 4 players from the final list of the Saudi national team: goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Yami (Al-Ahly), midfielder Ali Hazazi (Al-Ittifaq), winger Khaled Al-Ghannam, in addition to striker Mohamed Maran (Al-Nasr).
Mancini had excluded from his initial list the right-back of Al-Nasr club, Sultan Al-Ghannam (30 international matches), in addition to the left-back of Al-Hilal, Yasser Al-Shahrani (77 international matches), and his fellow veteran midfielder, Salman Al-Faraj.
The Green Falcons team is playing in Group 6, which includes Oman, Kyrgyzstan and Thailand, as it seeks to win the fourth title in its history.
The Saudi national team was crowned for the last time in 1996. It was eliminated twice in the group stage, in 2011 and 2015, before being content with qualifying for the round of 16 in the last edition in 2019 in the Emirates.
During his last camp, he will play 3 friendly matches against Lebanon, Palestine, and Hong Kong on the 4th, 9th, and 10th of this month, respectively.
