A senior Saudi official announced that allowing women in the Kingdom to assume judicial positions that were reserved for men will soon be done, as part of the policy of empowering women.
The Saudi Undersecretary for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for the Empowerment of Women, Hind Al-Zahid, said, “The appointment of Saudi women to the position of judge is soon, and the Kingdom is very serious in supporting the file of women’s empowerment.”
She pointed out that “the percentage of Saudi women holding leadership positions in the public sector currently stands at 2.5%, compared to 1.6% in 2017, compared to 25% in senior and middle leadership positions in the private sector.”
She added, “The indicators showed the Kingdom’s progress in supporting the empowerment of women at all levels, and that the participation of Saudi women in the labor market exceeded expectations, as it is targeted to reach 25% in 2025.”
