The Saudi Ports Authority “Mawani” launched, today, Wednesday, a new shipping line for Jeddah Islamic Port, which is the first in 2021.
The new shipping line connects north from Europe and the Mediterranean to the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, via North Africa, and covers important ports, including Tangier in Morocco and Al Jazeera port in Spain.
It is a continuation of the strategic partnerships with shipping lines, represented by “Hapag Lloyd”, “CMACGM”, “Cosco” and “One”, which are the largest leading shipping companies in the world.
The new line will provide the service of connecting the Jeddah Islamic Port to the Indian Ocean and Northern European ports, and the service consists of 7 ships, with a capacity of 8,500 standard containers per vessel, approximately 48 vessels per year, in order to increase the cargo capacity from the previous one.
