Saving for higher education is investing for a world in transformation

It would be undeniable to mention that the Covid-19 pandemic affected all sectors of society, one of the most affected being education sector. This highlights the prioritization of education as a family, social and public policy investment in any country.

Recently, in a study published by Marion Lloyd, a researcher at the Institute for Research on University and Education (IISUE), mentions that the educational crisis in which not only Mexico but Latin America is located where it can be observed that, as a consequence of the pandemic, there is an educational gap of two years on average, although in some cases it could reach up to four years.

Given this situation, it is necessary to quote Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary General who in the report “Generation of Learning: Investing in education for a changing world” indicates the urgent need to invest in education as a requirement for economic growth, sustainable development and global stability.

We must not forget that the young people and children who continued with their studies will be the leaders of tomorrow who will make decisions in a society in constant change and with increasing challenges, this reinforces the phrase reflected in said report where education is pointed out. as “the most powerful investment we can make in the future; a fundamental factor in personal, national and global development”.

This investment will yield returns in all areas of society by having professionals who can solve more complex problems for the benefit of humanity.

The crisis that went through the world and particularly the education sector has a solution: prioritize education in public policies, prioritize training in organizations, prioritize children and young people to achieve a more educated, more informed society with better opportunities for a quality life.
