Schneider Electric grows in Mexico and expands its production plant in Tlaxcala

Schneider Electric, leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, continues to grow in Mexico, this time with the announcement of a new warehouse at its production plant located in the state of Tlaxcala.

The Acuamanala Plant is focused on the manufacture of materials and finished products that provide safety to electrical installations in homes and factories. The expansion of this plant is intended to meet the growing demand of the company’s business partners, mainly in the Mexican and North American markets.

“We are convinced that by incorporating innovations such as those presented today, together with the talent of our collaborators, we advance in our objective of promoting the development of the industries of the future, which combine electrical and digital to take advantage of to the maximum their energy and resources, making them more efficient and sustainable”, commented Jesús Carmona, President and General Director of Schneider Electric in Mexico and Central America, at the inauguration of the plant.

The production lines installed at the Acuamanala plant (Tlaxcala) have a world-class architecture that, together with qualified labor, will ensure the efficiency of the final production of Schneider Electric products.

Mexico, an important pole of development

With 77 years in the Mexican market, Schneider Electric continues betting and endorsing its commitment to Mexico. With the inauguration of this plant, around 700 formal jobs are expected, for a total of more than 2,500 in the state of Tlaxcala.

According to what was commented by José Díaz, Manager of the Tlaxcala plant, this state was selected for various aspects such as its technical competitiveness; economic, industrial and labor conditions; but, above all, because of the certainty that this state has given to investments.

“This expansion is a milestone in our strategy that seeks to change our internal strengths with the opportunities that the environment offers us. Our growth in Tlaxcala is only possible thanks to the government that has been with us along the way through its different government agencies,” said Néstor Alonso Hernández Jiménez, Vice President of manufacturing operations at Schneider Electric.

Sustainability, a job for everyone

Jesús Carmona also pointed out the importance of creating concrete solutions for his clients in terms of sustainability. With 180 years of presence in the world, Schneider Electric has dedicated all its efforts to the creation of products and solutions for the consumption of safe energy.

“We believe that all of us together are facing the main problem of our generation, which is climate change, but we also have a responsibility in Mexico to participate in achieving that goal and reducing that problem. This expansion is very important in this step because without the products that are created here, we cannot provide that concrete solution to our customers, our children and other generations”, explained the President and General Director of Schneider Electric in Mexico and Central America.

As part of this expansion, Carmona also explained that electricity consumption will be digitized and measured in real time within the plant to reduce energy consumption and achieve zero impact on the carbon footprint.

Among the guests at the inauguration of the plant, the Governor of the state of Tlaxcala, Lorena Cuellar, was present and expressed the deep pleasure of being part of the expansion of Schneider Electric.

“For me, the important thing in terms of economic development is to attract large companies to Tlaxcala and provide security. I will continue visiting as many companies as they invite me to give the certainty that they will have the accompaniment of their governor and to tell the collaborators of this great company that I will always be working to provide the best spaces for you,” said Cuellar.

The expansion is part of the 1,300 million pesos that the company will invest throughout 2023 with the intention of strengthening Mexico as one of the most strategic markets in the region, and adds to the projects in places such as Nuevo León, Tijuana and Mexico City.

Among the upcoming projects of Schneider Electric in Mexico, it is intended to add a second ship to the Acuamanala Plant (Tlaxcala), in which they expect to start operations during the first quarter of 2024.
