Seattle Seahawks running back Kenny McIntosh is feared to have suffered a torn ACL during Saturday’s practice, pending the results of further testing, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
McIntosh sustained the non-contact injury during a special teams period, going down in considerable pain. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the field by team staff.
A seventh-round pick in 2023, McIntosh was competing for the No. 3 running back position behind Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet. His potential absence creates an opportunity for other running backs on the roster, including 2024 seventh-round pick Damien Martinez, George Holani, and undrafted rookie Jacardia Wright.
The injury also impacts the Seahawks’ special teams, as McIntosh was a leading candidate to handle kickoff return duties. Last season, he averaged 25.5 yards on six returns and rushed 31 times for 172 yards.
