The Russian Direct Investment Fund announced today, Friday, that the National Medicines Administration in the Republic of Guinea has registered the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Corona virus.
The fund said in a press statement that “Guinea has become the second African country to approve the use of the Sputnik V vaccine,” explaining that the vaccine was registered under an emergency use license based on data from its clinical trials in Russia.
The Republic of Guinea has become the second country in Africa to register the #SputnikV vaccine.

Kirill Dmitriev, director of the Russian Investment Fund, said in the statement that the “Sputnik V” vaccine had already been received by Guinea’s President Alpha Conde, making him the first African leader to undergo a Russian vaccine.
So far, “Sputnik V” has been registered in a number of countries in addition to Russia, namely Algeria, Palestine, the Emirates, Belarus, Serbia, Hungary, Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, and Iran, while Turkey and Kazakhstan signed an agreement with Russia to produce this vaccine on their lands.
