Blackburn winger Luke Brennan extended his contract but is now out on loan at AFC Fylde
LUKE BRENNAN FACTFILE
CLUB: AFC Fylde (on loan from Blackburn)
WHAT HAS HE GOT?
This player has just had his contract at Blackburn extended but this week moved on loan to Fylde in National League North to gain experience.
He will only benefit from this.
When I saw him I loved the way he ran the ball directly and purposefully at the opposing right back.
He is strong and his work rate was excellent, dropping into good covering positions to deter the opposition from playing the cross-field ball.
He hugged the touchline when possession was gained and was available for an early pass because of his positioning.
From this area he varied his game. His strength is making chances from intelligent wing play.
He is only 19 but I would be surprised if he was not given first-team experience before long at Blackburn.
WHAT DOES HE NEED?
As he steps up a grade and plays with better players, his strengths will show even more.
I did wonder as I watched him if he had an end product. As a winger he has to create and score goals.
He must be aware of getting into the box and adding this quality to his game.
