The media in Burkina Faso reported that security forces shot dead a 36-year-old man in the capital, Ouagadougou, after he attacked the Moroccan ambassador there, Youssef El-Salaoui.
The media said that the Moroccan diplomat was hit in the head at about ten o’clock on Thursday evening and was transferred to the hospital, and according to the same sources, another person close to the ambassador was injured.
For its part, informed sources confirmed to Moroccan “Hespress” that what the Moroccan ambassador was subjected to was “a normal criminal attack that has nothing to do with his diplomatic capacity.”
The sources indicated that the ambassador and his wife are in good health, and were taken to hospital without the injury posing a threat to their lives.
